#BellLetsTalk Mental Health Day

Have you seen all the ‘BellLetsTalk’ posts today? Did you see a friend post that you didn’t expect to be suffering from any mental health issues? I certainly did.

I know how it feels to want to stay in bed – all day, day after day – and keep crying at the slightest thing – and not even know why.

We’ve all experienced pain attached to mental health – for me it was at it’s worst after having my second child, and also being raised in a family where my Dad and sister suffered with depression.

It hurts – it hurts everyone in the family. You, your kids, and your partner – even though they may be the most supportive person in the world.

It’s easy to push people away, even if they say they want to help you. When you’re in pain, you don’t want to talk about it (or anything for that matter), and you might not even want to leave the house.

I get it. and here’s the thing…

Much of the time, you’re fine. And you feel like this is a battle you’ve got to keep secret. But it’s not going to go away. That’s why people get stuck in this cycle for years. It will come and go. But it won’t go for good if you just keep pushing it away or turning down the volume.

I know this sort of pain. I know how you’re trying to pretend everything’s ok. I want to share with you what I did to keep it at bay, and finally break free. I managed to break the cycle of mental health issues in my family.

This got me thinking about really helping each other beyond just this day.

That’s why on Monday of next week, 30th January, I’m doing a 3 day Mental Wellness Mini-Course hosted LIVE in a Private Facebook Group.
